30 kilometres from the Italian border, Nice is a colourful Mediterranean mish-mash flanked by the tranquil Bay of Angels on one side and the rolling Ligurian Alps on the other. Nice's 350,000 inhabitants enjoy superb culture (museums, plays, opera, libraries and concerts) as well as blue skies, sparkling sea and sun year-round. Numerous public works by celebrated artists such as Chagall, Nikki de Saint-Phalle and Matisse are dotted around the city.

Vieux Nice is a labyrinthine quarter of medieval streets, local delicacies (courgette fritters, pissaladière, socca) and a decidedly Italian feel. Savour the sea air and gorgeous views as you stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, walking in the footsteps of celebrities as diverse as King Farouk of Egypt and the Rolling Stones.

International House

The International House summer programme is held at Don Bosco College, a 20-minute walk from the beach.
