This junior programme is for young students from 13 to 17yrs who would like to improve their English skills in a safe and welcoming environment. The programme combines English lessons (every morning from Monday to Friday) with fun activities in the afternoons and evenings, with accommodation in either a residence or with a host family.
The programme includes 20 lessons (45 minutes each) per week, making 15 hours of lessons per week from Monday to Friday. The lessons take place in the mornings with a break to make sure the students don't lose concentration. All course materials are included and given out to the students on the first day of lessons.
The classes are international and have 15 students maximum per class to ensure that the students participate. On the last day of the course, students receive a certificate for their language level, showing their progress.
The lessons are led by qualified and experienced teachers. On the first day a level test allows students to be placed in an appropriate class for their level. The lessons are based on the four primary language skills: reading, writing, conversation and spoken comprehension.
The activities are based on the theme of discovering Malta. The students will visit the white-sand beaches, tour the island, visit an aquarium, explore the aquatic amusement park and go bowling.
Time allowed for shopping is also organised, as well as evening activities such as barbecues, karaoke nights, beach games and other recreational fun. All activities are monitored by on-site supervisors.
One week includes five half-days of activities as well as three evenings. For a stay of a minimum two weeks, a half-day excursion is included.
Here is an example activity programme for one week:
- Boat cruise from the port
- Cinema night
- Splash & Fun Water Park
- Visit to an artisan village
- Shopping in Baystreet
- Visit to Mdina, the Silent City
- Water games
- Boat cruise to the Blue Lagoon
The island of Malta in the middle of the Mediterranean is the perfect place to study English in the summer. The island offers a Mediterranean climate, clear blue seas, a rich history, beautiful cities and restaurants and a lively night life. St Paul's Bay used to be a small fishing village. Today it is the most beautiful seaside resort in Malta, with long walks along the beach. The temperature is ideal year round and numerous water activities are available nearby.
English is one of the two official languages on the island (along with Maltese), a heritage from two centuries of British colonisation. The most popular newspaper is the Malta Times, published in English, and the Maltese drive on the left. The teachers in Malta are all native English speakers and are qualified in teaching English as a foreign language. Malta certainly is the ideal compromise between relaxation and learning.
Our partner school is recognized as one of the best private schools in Malta for the instruction of English. There are three establishments, in St Julian's, St Martin's College and Chiswick House School. The learning environment has been adapted to motivate students.
All classrooms have been equipped with air conditioning, assuring a level of comfort ideal for learning. The on-site academic supervisors are always present to help with any concerns, for example if the courses are too difficult or too easy or if the student needs help with lessons.
Outside of class, there are counsellors who assure that the programme runs smoothly 24/7. They are in charge of waking the students up in the morning, supervising activities and looking after the students at night.
We offer participants the choice of a homestay or a residence.
Our host families are carefully chosen by the school staff. They are all native English speakers and offer the best possible conditions for the students to practice their English in an authentic and friendly environment.
Accommodation is generally in a double room (sometimes triple), with full-board.
Each student has: - A bed - A desk or table for studying (in the bedroom or sitting room) - A wardrobe

Residence - BellaVista Hotel (in only summer)
The BellaVista hotel is located in Qawra, in the centre of St Paul's Bay, on the north coast of the island.
Accommodation is offered in triple or quadruple rooms with full-board. A continental breakfast is offered in the mornings, a sandwich or hot meal is served at lunchtime and a buffet is available in the evening. Bottles of water are free with every meal, nevertheless it is very hot during the summer in Malta and it would be useful to have some pocket money in order to buy fresh drinks.

The accommodation is cleaned daily. The hotels have a relaxation area, an IT suite and an outdoor pool. Monitors also stay on site.
