Malta is a spectacular island located in the middle of the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean and is the perfect place to study English all year round. Its Mediterranean climate, gorgeous bays and tranquil villages make it a haven of serenity. If you're looking for something more active, Malta also boasts a rich and lengthy history, bars, shops and restaurants galore and buzzing nightlife.
English is one of the two official languages on the island, stemming from two centuries of British rule. Malta's most-read paper is the English-language Malta Times, and the Maltese drive on the left. Our Maltese teachers are all native English speakers specialised and qualified to teach English to foreign students.
Malta most probably offers the best compromise between relaxing leisure and serious language learning.
Founded in 1985, our partner school IELS welcomes students from all over the world and offers an international atmosphere. .
The school is located in Sliema, a cosmopolitan seaside resort located 5 Km from the capital Valletta and right next to the seafront promenade which takes the local population towards the numerous restaurants, bars, cafés and clubs of the St-Julian district.
The school buildings include bright, air conditioned classrooms, a library, a cafeteria and an Internet café enabling students to stay in touch with their family and friends during their stay. Wifi access and Internet café are at students disposal.
The school is member of FELTOM, an association approved by the Maltese Ministry of Education.
Participants are offered to use either Homestay or Residence accommodation.
All our host families are carefully selected by the school staff. They are all native English speakers and provide the students with the best possible opportunity to practice their English in a real warm and authentic environment.
Most of the host families live around Sliema / St.Julians / Swieqi ; others are located in the surrounding villages of San Gwann, Msida, Ta/Xbiex, Naxxar, Lija, Balzan and Attard.
Accommodation is usually in double room (sometimes triple room) including full board.
Alternatively, students can opt to stay in one of our residences. We cannot guarantee one residence in particular, but two people of the same sex who book at the same time will always be able to stay together in the same residence.
A €50 refundable security deposit will be asked for on arrival. The accommodation has 3 or 4 bedded rooms including full board. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities. Residences are within walking distance from the school.
Wifi connection is available at minor additional cost.
