Destination

Breda is a lovely and lively historical town located near the Belgian border in Western Brabant (Netherlands). The city’s rich past, still visible thanks to the many charming old buildings and the attractive layout of the old town, contributes to the modern vibe of the centre, with its vibrant night life and animated shopping streets. With over 170,000 inhabitants, Breda has developed into a large city, but has remained a particularly friendly place to live and study.

Learn Dutch in your teacher's home

Individual immersion courses are the most exceptional and efficient programmes that we offer. Your teacher will give you lessons which suit you personally, reflect your interests and meet your needs. As you are the only student, the lessons will go at your pace. This method of learning is extremely effective, as you will not meet other speakers of your language.

Because you are living in your teacher’s home and using the language constantly, the learning process continues all day - not just during lessons, but during meals, day-to-day activities and on (optional) excursions. You are sure to make very rapid progress.

Programmes run from Sunday to Sunday.

Courses

Teaching method adapted to the needs and pace of the student. The course programme begins with a student evaluation in order to determine their level and their objectives.

We offer two formulas in Breda. You can choose between a programme of 10, 15, 20, or 25 hours of classes per week for each formula.

• Standard private course
  
  The host family can host 1 or 2 students of different nationalities. Classes are given by a member of the family who has a teaching qualification. Participants can follow a programme of activities in place of the lessons if they prefer, for a supplement.
  
  This option is ideal for those who wish to take general Dutch classes, whether students or people aged over 50.
• Premium private course
  
  The host family only has one student. A specialist teacher will come to give classes at the host home. The programme is entirely tailor-made, and is perfect for professionals who require a specialised vocabulary in their particular domain. Participants can follow a programme of activities in place of the lessons if they prefer, for a supplement.

Accommodation

Accommodation is in host families.

Given that this programme is designed for total immersion, students stay with host families, in a private room. Full bard is included, either 3 meals during the week and brunch and an evening meal on the weekends.

This immersion lets you practice Dutch outside of your classes and dive into Dutch culture.

Prices & Dates

Programmes run from Sunday to Sunday, all year round (except during the Christmas holidays).

Prices include:

• Entry prices and travel for certain activities

Transport

• Arrival: Breda station
  

This station is closest to the school and well-connected by public transport.

If you intend to travel by car please warn your hosts to arrange an arrival time.

Visa Information

EU residents do not normally need a Visa to enter the Netherlands.

Citizens of other countries, such as the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, etc, can stay in Spain without a Visa for up to 3 months.

If you intend to stay for longer than 3 months, you will need to apply for a Student Visa (type D) before arriving.

Students coming from such countries must acquaint themselves with the visa application procedures involved at their local Belgian Embassy or Consulate.
