Destination
Boston, the capital and largest city of the state of Massachusetts, is one of the most desired student destinations in the United States. Its intense cultural life, prestigious schools and universities, festivals, animated nightlife and charming architecture attract students from across the United States and the world. As the economic and cultural centre of New England, Boston does not resemble other American metropolises; the centre boasts a number of colonial buildings, the streets are windy and not on a grid pattern and the city has a number of pedestrian and bike zones.
Nicknamed the "cradle of freedom", Boston is the oldest of the new cities of the United States. A scent of England, still alive in the home as in habits, contributes to the charm of this landmark of American history, famous for its cobbled streets and monuments, that alongside the modern skyscrapers of the district business. The capital of Massachusetts has preserved its multiple identity, shaped by four centuries since the influx of immigrants from places like Ireland and Italy in the nineteenth century. But far from being locked in its past, this great university centre has developed into a major cultural and economic centre of the United States.
School
Our partner school is situated on a Boston university campus and is one of the premiere English teaching institutions in the American university system. It is only 15 minutes from the historic city centre by bus.
The professors are all certified and experienced teachers of English as a foreign language. The class sizes average about 8 and the maximum is 15, which creates an ideal and dynamic atmosphere for class interaction.
The campus covers 33 hectares (82 acres) of magnificent wooded land. Founded in 1911, the school offers students both an pleasant atmosphere with traditional architecture and and the comfort of modern facilities.
Students have access to all of the campus facilities: library and media centre, computer labs with internet access, language laboratory, university cafeteria, indoor sports facilities and gym, tennis courts, golf courses, running track, etc.
Activities
The school organises a variety of social and cultural activities, as well as day excursions to different attractions. These include the Museum of Sciences, the Museum of Fine Arts, the New England Aquarium, Red Sox baseball games, the Hard Rock Café, etc. There are also more distant destinations offered, including the ski slopes of New England, Montreal, New York City or even whale-watching.
