Nestled between Dublin and Belfast, located less than an hour from the capital and home to 50,000 people, Drogheda retains a lovely small-town atmosphere yet it's packed with things to see and do. Drogheda is a city that develops fast due to the fact that global companies such as Coca Cola and E-Bay recently decided to make it their home. It is packed with everything you can find in any major city: shopping centres, cinemas, traditional pubs, restaurants, cafés or Ireland's largest theme park... Drogheda also boasts a rich history: the 5000-year-old world famous Newgrange passage tomb is located only 8 km away, while 18th-century Oldbridge House is nowadays the visitor centre for the Battle of the Boyne. A modern, traditional and historic town, Drogheda has something for everyone. Nestled in the beautiful Boyne Valley, Drogheda is the perfect destination for students of all ages.
