Destination

Language programme in Liverpool

Liverpool has so much to offer: a vibrant, cultural city, elected European capital of culture in 2008. After London, Liverpool boasts the most theatres, museums, and art galleries than any other city in England. It has been part of the UNESCO cultural heritage since 2004 for its docks and maritime history.

The city is also recognized as the World Capital of Pop Music mainly thanks to The Beatles. Music buffs will delight in all the musical history that has left its traces around the city as several local attractions are dedicated to the history of the world-famous band and festivals are organised throughout the year.

It also has a uniquely diverse history: Liverpool's black population dates back to the early 18th century, since slaves entering the country after 1722 were deemed free. Liverpool's Chinatown was the first in Europe, and today its gateway is the biggest outside of China.

For football fans, the name "Liverpool" cannot even be uttered without mentioning two of its principal clubs, Everton and Liverpool, who both play at the highest level of British and European competitions.

Student life is also a key component of Liverpool. Restaurants, bars, clubs - Liverpool has a nationally renown night life. One thing's for certain: there will certainly be enough things to do outside of class. The local population is reputed for being very welcoming and friendly. Their humour and love for living guarantee you to enjoy several good nights out.

LILA School of English

Our partner school, LILA, is situated in the centre of town, a short walk away from Liverpool One. Located in a very modern building, classrooms are Liverpool-themed and have on display impressive works of art. Students can take a stroll down memory lane with all the old photographs of Liverpool throughout the ages. Several bus lines run on the doorstep of the school. Staff are very helpful: a tutor is available during to day to help with any difficulty and an accommodation assistant is there to support anyone if any problem arises with the host family or integration in the city. By the way, the school has been voted Best Customer Service in 2017!

Accreditations: British Council, English UK, Quality English
