School
Come and study and benefit from the advantages London has to offer without suffering from its inconveniences!
Twickenham is a large suburban town 10 miles (16 km) southwest of central London. It has plenty to see and do, with shops, art galleries, museums, historic houses, wide open spaces and, of course, the famous rugby stadium nearby which has a museum and tours. Eel Pie Island is well-known as the residence of famous pop musicians, and local pubs and theatres often feature live bands, or you can relax with a pint at a waterside pub.
Nearby you can visit Henry VIII’s palace at Hampton Court, the world-famous Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Richmond Park, the biggest in London.
At 25 minutes away from central London, the town offers many advantages: avoiding the daily traffic... and still with easy and quick access to the centre. The homestays and accommodations are close to school (15 - 30 minutes) and have been carefully selected. Transport services are easier to manage than the central ones

School
Our partner school in London occupies part of a modern building which has been refitted to provide up-to-date facilities and an excellent learning environment. Twelve classrooms hold a maximum of twelve students in each room. There is wireless internet throughout the school as well as computers for private study and a business classroom with interactive whiteboard. Local cafés are literally a few steps from the front door if students want snacks or more substantial meals. The school also has a bookshop and library lending service to help students continue their studies out of class.
It is located about 25 minutes south west of central London by train in Transport for London Zone 5, and about 40 minutes from London Heathrow.
Courses
Our partner school offers several lesson programmes:
- General English - Standard
15 hours English lessons per week, max 12 students per class. This course is for students who are seeking to communicate effectively in everyday situations and gain a sound understanding of the principles of the English language. The course structure is designed around a course book and provides the opportunity for students to improve the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as enhancing and increasing their active / working vocabulary and grammar knowledge. By the end of their stay the students can expect to have improved not only their communicative competence, through their study of ‘survival’ English and ‘everyday’ English but will have also achieved a new level of learner autonomy and confidence.
- General English - Intensive
22.5 hours English lessons each week, max 12 students per class. This intensive course is for students who are seeking to communicate effectively in everyday situations and gain a sound understanding of the principles of the English language in classes of up to 12 students. By the end of their stay the students can expect to have improved not only their communicative competence, through their study of ‘survival’ English and ‘everyday’ English but will have also achieved a new level of learner autonomy and confidence. This is an intensive course for students who wish to have the opportunity to enhance the skills of listening and speaking.
- Exam Preparation - Cambridge (30L/week)
We offer preparation for the First Certificate in English (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) examinations. Sessions last 10 weeks (consult the "Prices and Dates" tab for further information). Book an extra week of accommodation in order to take the exam on site.
- Exam Preparation: IELTS (20+10L/week)
We also offer preparation for the IELTS exam, with 4 week sessions as a minimum.
Our well-established and expert examination team provide the students with a comprehensive preparation for these examinations. Morning lessons are structured to focus on grammar and vocabulary building, with specific focus on the ‘Use of English’, ‘writing’, and ‘reading’ papers. In the afternoons the lessons focus on the ‘speaking’ and ‘listening’ papers. Students can expect to be given comprehensive practice of past papers and a thorough education in exam techniques. It should be noted that there is an expectation that the students have a certain degree of homework in order to prepare themselves fully for the exams.
Accommodation
We offer accommodation in either a private room in host family or in a student residence, depending on the wishes of the student.
Housing is not necessary if you already have somewhere to live in London.
- Host Families
Host families are one of the best ways for students to interact with English speakers and experience a bit of English culture. Before departing for your course, you will receive the name, address, and telephone number of your family and we will provide you with a map of your neighbourhood, including the nearest train/tube station. Our families are each individually selected and inspected by our agent in London, who is also available throughout your stay should you have any issues. Stays in host families include half-board (2 meals a day). Our families are located 30-45 minutes away from the school.
- Student Residences - Summer only
Our residence is located next to the school and is ideal for students who want independence and the company of other students. The residence has single study bedrooms on four floors which are divided into flatlets. Each flat has two bathrooms and a fully-fitted kitchen providing full self-catering facilities. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available.
The school also offers a (safe-catered) residence available all year round (from January 2012) situated in the same building as the school. There you will find single or shared rooms.
Warning: This residence is full for the month of January. There is a possible alternative to be housed near the school's metro station.
- Apartments
Our apartments are close to Bushy Park and offer basic self-catering rooms. There is cooking equipment in each room. We only offer single rooms, unless you enrol with someone and wish to share a room. Showers and toilets are shared between 2 residents.
