Location
Los Angeles is preceded by its gilded reputation as the home of show business. You can’t help but associate it with glitz and glamor. The "City of Angels" continues to embody the American dream. Cosmopolitan and sunny, it offers a balmy climate, glittering beaches, the world’s most famous film industry and a first-class lifestyle. It is also a city full of contrasts and supports a seething intellectual and artistic scene, as evidenced by the many museums in the city.
Glendora is an upscale suburban community of more than 53,000 people. The city is home to numerous parks, an Old Town shopping district, and a variety of homes from cosy cottages to prestigious estates. Annual festivities include the “Flashback to the ‘50s” and the Route 66 Mile Run. Local public transport is available by bus.
School
Located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, Citrus College offers a great combination of suburban comfort and safety along with access to all of the attractions and cultural life of the Los Angeles area. The city of Glendora, with quaint tree-lined streets, is home to shopping, restaurants, coffee houses, cinemas, golf courses and many other recreational activities. The family-friendly community is located only 40 kilometers east of Los Angeles and enjoys easy access to the area’s most exciting attractions.
The College has a long tradition of serving students and offers numerous courses. Students enjoy an active schedule of campus events, including a full range of athletic activities, performing arts and student fairs. Campus highlights include the Olympic-size swimming pool, the golf driving range and the state-of-the-art TV and recording studio.
The facilities include a 1,400 seat theatre providing entertainment offerings, a main computer lab, a café offering a wide range of food selections, a student lounge, student club offices, conference rooms, etc. Plus, all programmes are taught by qualified, native-speaking teachers.
Courses
The English programmes have exceptional features. Students can enjoy small class sizes of 15 or less, guaranteeing individual attention from your teacher. Weekly English tests and individualized progress reports are run every four weeks. A certificate of completion upon successful graduation from each level is delivered, along with personalized counselling and academic assistance. All levels are accepted.
- Semi-Intensive course
This programme includes 18 lessons per week (15 hours) in the core English skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. For students who prefer to combine their studies with plenty of time for sightseeing and relaxation, our semi-intensive programme offers coverage of fundamental English skills and free time to enjoy the many attractions near the school campus.
- Intensive course
This programme includes 24 lessons each week (20 hours). The programme places an exceptional emphasis on speaking. Students practice speaking skills frequently in class, receiving regular guidance and correction from their instructor.
- Super Intensive course
This comprehensive programme is designed to maximize student progress with even more live instruction, 30 lessons per week (25 hours). It is an ideal option for those who wish to improve their skills quickly. - TOEFL exam preparation
This programme covers general English and modules geared specifically towards the TOEFL exam.
If you are interested in preparing for an internationally recognised English exam, such as the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), this programme will help you achieve your goal. It focuses on vocabulary and the three main aspects of the TOEFL: oral comprehension, grammar, and written expression. Advanced level required.
Activities
Students have access to numerous free activities and specially priced excursions. Those include the original Disney theme park which is the home to Space Mountain and the Indiana Jones Adventure, a tour of Hollywood, Universal Studios, the Aquarium of the Pacific, Venice beach, the beautiful seaside resort of Santa Barbara, Raging Waters, extreme roller coasters, etc.
Accommodation
We offer accommodation with host families.
Stay with a carefully selected American homestay family to increase your understanding of English and American culture. Many of our students make American friends they keep in touch with long after their English programme is over.
Host Families are carefully chosen from safe and attractive neighbourhoods. Our housing staff visits and interviews each family and insures that the family provides a clean, welcoming home environment for students. Many of our families have hosted for years and have welcomed students from many countries. They understand the special needs of international students and our housing staff is available for your assistance if questions arise during your stay.
The accommodation includes half board and a shared room.

Dates 2012
Programmes run throughout the year, from Sunday to Saturday. Courses start on Mondays.
All students but beginners can start at the beginning of each month (beginners upon request). Starting dates : 16/01, 13/02, 12/03, 09/04, 07/09, 04/06, 02/07, 30/07, 27/08, 24/09, 22/10, 19/11, 17/12.

Visa
For EU residents:
- For visits of less than 90 days (12 weeks) comprising 18 lessons per week: a student visa is not necessary. You will simply need to fill out an online ESTA declaration (14$) to enter US territory.
- For visits of less than 90 days (12 weeks) comprising more than 20 lessons per week: you will need a student visa and we will provide you with all necessary paperwork.
- For visits of more than 90 days (12 weeks): you will need a student visa and we will provide you with all necessary paperwork.
It is highly important that you familiarise yourself with all the documentation necessary for the acquisition of a visa in your home country before visiting your local US embassy.
