Location
Situated on the banks of the Saint-Laurent river, the city of Montreal is known for its perfect combination of an American way of life and European heritage.
Considered like the second French-speaking city in the world after Paris, the same goes for Montreal on a cultural level, having hosted the Exposition Universelle in 1967 and the Olympics in the summer of 1976.
It is equally the host of the numerous festivals which have put it on the map: world film festival, the international jazz festival, "Juste pour rire" comedy festival, "Montreal en lumière" festival...
Whenever you go, whether in summer or in winter, you will surely appreciate all that this city has to offer, just like its inhabitants, some of the friendliest in the world.
School
Ideally situated in a dynamic district of Montreal, our partner school enjoys an excellent reputation. It is very accessible; only 5 minutes' walk from two metro stations, the train station, and several bus stops.
Our school can welcome up to 350 students and has 24 classrooms. It has modern and perfectly equipped facilities: a multi-media centre, unlimited WiFi access, a relaxation area, and a cafeteria are all available to the students.
Activities
Each week, the school suggests activities for its participants.
The majority of these take place during the week, whereas the excursions take place on the weekend. Some are free while others are payable on-site.
You will be able to ask for the calendar of activities planned at the reception once you've arrived.
Courses
These programmes are open to students from 17 years old. Classes take place from Monday to Friday, in groups of 12 people on average.
Here are the different course programmes available:
- Standard programme: 20 lessons per week
You will acquire the vocabulary, the grammar, and the structures of the language in the aim of rapidly developing your communication skills in French. This programme allows you to benefit from your free time for discovering Montrealaise life. - Intensive programme: 25 lessons per week
Complementary to the standard programme, this intensive programme offers one extra lesson per day, called "Power Skills". During these classes, students complete exercises, role-playing games, etc, allowing an interactive focus on the 4 aspects of language skill: writing, speaking, listening, and reading. - Super-intensive programme: 25+5 semi-private lessons
For students who wish to receive more personalised classes, we offer 5 extra lessons in addition to the intensive courseload, with a maximum of 3 students per class. If there is no other student for your level, you will receive 2 private lessons per week instead. - DELF preparation: 25 lessons per week
The DELF, globally recognised official French exam, certifies your language level by giving you a label corresponding to your French ability between A1 and C2. - Montreal Internship: French or English
We offer to students aged between 18 and 35 the chance of professional experience in a local business, after following an intensive or semi-intensive course (possible in French or in English).
Students must have at least an upper-intermediate level of French or English. The programme is as follows:- Minimum duration: 8 weeks of classes + 8 weeks of internship
- Maximum duration: 24 weeks of classes + 24 weeks of internship
- Possible domains: accounting, tourism, marketing, sales, administration, design, finance, sports, law, biology, fashion, communication, media, international commerce, green technologies...
Conditions: - You must follow an intensive or super-intensive language programme in our language school
- Duration of the internship must be at the least equivalent to the duration of the course
- You must have a sufficient language level for the internship
- You must have a Student Permit and a C30 Work Exemption Permit
Accommodation
Two types of accommodation are available for this programme:
Host family
Choosing to stay with a host family is the best way to discover a different way of life and regularly practice a foreign language in a welcoming environment. Our partner school ensures particular care in the selection of its families.
In order to facilitate your integration into your family, and to quickly establish a friendly rapport with them, we'll take your age, profession, and interests into account when matching your profile.
You will be housed in a single room with half-board. Families are located at most 45 minutes from the school.
In a residence
For students wishing more independence, we also offer accommodation in a residence. This is situated at most 30 minutes' walk away from the school. You will have a furnished single room and have access to the following shared rooms: kitchen, bathroom, TV lounge, laundry facilities.

Stays take place from Sunday to Saturday. Courses begin every Monday throughout the year.
There will be no classes on the following dates : 06/04, 25/05, 02/07, 03/09, 09/10, and the Christmas holidays, 24/12/12 to 4/01/13.

Transport
- To Montreal international airport
- An optional (payable) welcome party and transfer is available from the airport to accommodation
If you wish, we can book your flights for you. Please make this clear when you enrol.
If you intend to arrange your own travel, try to arrive the Sunday before the start of your course and leave the Saturday after its end.
Visa Information
EU citizens do not need a visa for visiting Canada for less than 6 months, but they do need a current international passport which expires at the earliest one day after their return date (with a valid return ticket).
If you intend to stay in Canada for longer than 6 months you will need to apply for a "non-permanent resident" visa.
Citizens of other countries (such as the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea) must consult their country's Canadian Embassy to verify entry requirements.
If you need to apply for a Visa, we will provide you with all necessary information and documentation.
