A high quality partner organisation, member of the London Chamber of Commerce
Our partner organization has a quality program for international students, and provides regular assistance through every step of the internship. We advise students to form a relationship with the company and employees. Having a network in the working world is definitely a bonus.
- Assistance throughout the duration of the internship
Easy Languages helps participants throughout the whole internship process, from enrolment through to the end of the programme.
Participants must be between 18 and 32 years old and at least have an intermediate level (B1) in English (required for a work environment). The level of English required depends on the area where you want to do your internship in. If you are unsure of your level, our partner can take care of a test via a telephone interview.
If your level of English is not yet sufficient for immediately starting an internship, you may be interested in our English language courses in the UK. You can take a look here at our English programs in the UK.
- Only citizens from the EU, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein can take part in this programme.
- Internships are unpaid. The company might be able to pay for transportation, but this is not guaranteed.
The UK has many internship opportunities in a variety of sectors that correspond to many different profiles.
Minimum stay: 8 - 12 weeks for the vast majority
4 week internships are only possible for less-demanding internships in the following sectors:
- Charity Retail (criminal record required)
- Social care (criminal record required)
- Child care (criminal record required)
- Business Start (assisting at reception, maintenance of refreshment areas, liaising with client companies using the premises, collection and delivery of post to clients, setting up meeting rooms, providing services to clients during meetings, simple office tasks)
For all specialised sectors, an education in the desired field (either a professional or university diploma) as well as relevant experience is required. Placement fees are higher in specialized fields.
Here are a few examples of the types of sectors available:
- Graphic design
- Human Resources
- IT Programming
- TV/Broadcast Media
- Other sectors possible on request (our partners will inform us if the chosen sector is considered to be a specialised sector when we receive the booking).
Internship duration: 12 - 24 weeks
Dates and enrolment deadlines
The internships can take place throughout the year, for a duration of your choice.
The enrolment deadline is at least 8 weeks before departure (12 weeks for internships in June and September) and placements are finalised between 4 and 6 weeks before the internship starts.
Please note that for some sectors the deadline is different, it is advised to book your internship as early as possible so that we can find the most appropriate placement for your objectives.
Internships are available all over England, according to your preferences and availability.
Possibilities are: London, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Oxford and York.
When filling out the enrolment form, we ask you to put down at least two sector and city/region preferences. We will do our best to meet your requests. However, we will focus on the sector more than the city requested, unless you specify otherwise.
Please note: we offer housing options for internships in London and in Brighton. If you choose to do an internship in another city, you will be responsible for organising your own accommodation.
In the main cities, the partner has set up a system of ambassadors. Some trainees, present for a few months on site, volunteer to guide the new trainees during their first weeks on the spot. They make contact with them from their first week and invite them to the next gathering. A Whatsapp group was created to help in this regard and to allow international students to meet easily.
For internships in London, we offer a wide choice of quality housing in host families, hostels and residences. Our partner in London is a housing specialist for short and medium stays and approved by the British Council for the quality of its services.
Participants have a choice of comfortable and safe housing in all parts of London (zones 1-5). All housing options are ideally located close to public transport. For more information on these homes, please click here.
Staying with a host family is the best way to fully delve into the English language and culture. We take enormous care in selecting the best host family for the student and all of our families are carefully screened.
Rooms are cleaned, and bed linen and towels are changed at least once a week. The participant will have a house key to come and go as they please. The host will be there to answer any questions and give advice to the participant.
