Program
Destination
Rome, the capital city of Italy, is the at the geographic, cultural, and economic centre of the country. The city is dotted with ruins from the ancient Roman Empire, buildings and churches from the middle ages, and art and architecture dating from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. It also hosts the territory of the Vatican City, the world’s smallest country and the effective capital of the Catholic Church. In the evenings, the streets are brimming with activity, from the many restaurants that serve excellent Italian cuisine to concerts halls hosting both classic and modern musical events.
School
Our partner school in Rome is a friendly and small language centre that specializes in teaching Italian to foreign students who are preparing to take the CILS and IT (Certificate of Italian, advanced level) examinations for entry into Italian universities. It is located in the historical centre of the city, just a stone’s throw from the Coliseum and Termini Station.
The school facilities are very modern, with a literature library and media library available to the students, including appropriate viewing equipment.
The school is a member of ASILS (Association of Language Schools of Italian as a Foreign Language), EDUITALIA (International education) and ELITE (European Federation of Associations for Teaching Mother Tongues).
Courses
All levels are accepted, from complete beginner to advanced, with an average of 12 students per class. Each lesson lasts 55 minutes. The first Monday after their arrival students take a written placement test to establish their level of Italian.
If a class has fewer than 4 people signed up, the number of lessons per week reduces to 15.
We offer the following programmes:
- General Italian: 20 lessons per week
4 lessons a day from Monday to Friday.
The courses generally take place in the morning, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, however certain groups may have lessons in the afternoon (from 1.30pm to 5pm), minimum duration of 2 weeks. - Intensive Italian: 30 lessons per week
Courses take place in the morning (from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm) and in the afternoon (from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm), minimum duration of 2 weeks.
Activities and Excursions
The school organises, assists and encourages its students to participate in its numerous socio-cultural activities in their spare time, making their stay in Rome a more pleasant and stimulating experience. Many of the activities are free of charge, others are at a reduced or discounted price.
Cultural activities consist of tours guided by an art historian, watching Italian films with an introduction by a teacher, assistance in museums reservations, discounted prices for theatre, opera, ballets and concerts, and discounts in bookstores.
Social and free time activities consist of visits to different neighbourhoods, lunches with the teachers, school parties, visits to typical nightclubs, sport club discounts and cooking courses for amateurs at a private house.
On weekends, students can go on excursions to Florence and Naples.

You have the choice between accommodation in a host family or in a shared apartment.
