Program
Are you planning to spend a short or long-term holiday in Los Angeles?
We offer accommodation either with local families or in student residences. Our partner in Los Angeles is a housing provider that specializes in offering private rooms in homestays, as well as private rooms in residence halls or dormitories. It is recognized by the FIYTO (Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations) for the quality of its services.
All our families are carefully selected, with attention given to the safety of the neighbourhoods, proximity to public transportation and friendliness of the host family.
This accommodation option allows the student to discover the region as a tourist living with a local, or to find independent accommodation during an internship. Therefore this option is not to be confused with a language programme in the sense that we do not guarantee daily contacts between the host families and the participants in the programme, who must be able to support themselves autonomously. Programmes run from 1 to 24 weeks.
Destination
Los Angeles is the second largest city in the United States, in southern California. Nicknamed the "City of Angels", Los Angeles is a world centre of business. International trade, entertainment, culture and media are part of the main economic sectors. As the home base of Hollywood, it is known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World", leading the world in the creation of motion pictures, television production, video games, and recorded music. The city is also famous for having hosted the Olympic Games twice.
Based on the “Sun Belt”, Los Angeles is very attractive for its warm climate, beaches, and famous neighbourhoods like Beverly Hills, Melrose Avenue or Sunset Boulevard. The wide range of theme parks, such as Disney World or Universal Studios Hollywood, plays a great role in the attraction of the city as well.
Host families
Families are located throughout the Los Angeles area: Hollywood, West and North Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Westwood (UCLA area), Downtown LA, Venice, Universal City, Culver City, Los Feliz, Marina del Rey, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, etc.
This variety of locations allows students and tourists to discover other points of interest outside of Los Angeles.
Guarantees
All families have been visited by our local partner and fulfil strict welcoming criteria. They provide a warm comfortable environment for the students and tourists they house.
They are always in a safe area of the city, situated close to public transport and local amenities.
Emergency assistance is available 24/7.
Families for this programme are considered "Superior" quality: they offer more spacious and better-located homes than the normal "Standard" families.
