Stay with a Californian host family
Are you planning to spend a short or long-term holiday in California?
Our partner in San Diego is a specialist in short and medium-term housing. It is recognised by the FIYTO (Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations) for the quality of its services. We offer a wide range of quality housing options in local families.
All our families are carefully selected, with attention given to the safety of the neighbourhoods, proximity to public transport and the quality of the accommodation.
This accommodation option allows the student to discover the region as a tourist while living with locals, or to find independent accommodation during an internship. Therefore this option is not to be confused with a language programme in the sense that we do not guarantee daily contact between the host families and the participants in the programme, they should be able to support themselves independently. Programmes run from 1 to 24 weeks.
Youths from 16 to 18
Youths that travel alone and do not wish to follow classes can choose our cultural immersion with a host family in Florida, California, New York allowing for host family accommodation and be supervised without subscribing for a language school.
San Diego is considered to be one of the most pleasant cities in the United States; it is clean, safe and fun, with a temperate climate 300 days of sun a year. The beaches of San Diego offer some of the world’s best surfing spots, and the city centre offers great opportunities to eat, drink, and shop. Just an hour away you will find the Laguna Mountains, the desert in the East and only 20 minutes to the South you will see Mexico.
San Diego has more than 86 golf courses, 1,200 tennis courses, 60 kilometres (about 40 miles) of beaches, and a water park covering almost 2,000 hectares (almost 5,000 acres). To the east, one hour from the centre, you will find the Alpine landscape of the Laguna Mountains, and two hours drive east will take you to the desert. Very few cities in the world offer such diverse surroundings. Mexico is just 20 minutes south of the city.
Families can be situated in any of the districts of San Diego.
This variety of locations allows students and tourists to discover other points of interest outside of the city.
All families have been visited by our local partner and have to meet strict requirements. They provide a warm and comfortable environment for students and tourists in their house.
Families are always located in a safe area of the city, situated close to public transport and local shops.
Emergency assistance is available 24/7.
