Cultural immersion in Beijing

China, with its status of 4th biggest global economy, is emerging as a force to be reckoned with. It is without a doubt because of this that learning Mandarin has become imperative for numerous Europeans, especially those who wish to develop in the business world.

China also has rich culture and history. Still, today we can see the ruins of ancient China with the temples, palaces and remarkable buildings and of course the Great Wall of China, which at the time was to defend against attacks from the west.

Beijing, the country's capital, is home to more than 15 million inhabitants and is the political, economic and cultural centre of the People's Republic of China. This exceptional city has an enormous cultural heritage from its 3,000 years of history. There are numerous oriental buildings from the ancient dynasties and among these unmissable sites is the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

The city is located in the north east of China and is full of contrasts. On one side it is a modern capital city, an emblem of a freshly drawn China to capitalism, and on the other side it is a true "city museum".

Our partner school in Beijing, Mandarin House is specialised in the teaching of Mandarin as a foreign language for numerous years. The teachers are all very experienced and qualified.

It is located near the large commercial centres, and is extremely well linked to the rest of the city by public transport. The centre have modern equipment enabling students to learn Mandarin in the most effective manner, with notably, computers, internet connection and a multimedia centre.
