Lisbon is the most western continental Europe’s capital and also the largest city of Portugal with a population of 479,884. Perched on seven hills, Lisbon is a beautiful harbour city with sunny, year-round climate and a rich culture and history.
Lisbon is also recognized as an Alpha World City because of its importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education, and tourism. Stroll around Rua Augusta for some shopping or visit the Lisbon Zoo, one of the oldest in the World. Take in some sights on the East end of the city, the Zona Oriental which was completely transformed for Expo’98, by bicycle or on foot, or take advantage of the endless activities that take place at Parque das Nações.
School
Our School is located in Alfornelos, just on the outskirts of Lisbon, near the areas of Pontinha and Benfica. As a result of 20 years of experience, the school has a solid and reliable teaching method. The methodology is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Our dedicated staff provides 24-hour support, helps you to learn the language and at the same time discover Portugal.You will enjoy an excellent location and transport facilities.
Activities
Our partner offers social and leisure programmes designed to deliver an optimal balance between language and cultural learning. All activities are designed to encourage student interaction with local people and therefore engage in authentic language learning. We offer a range of activities for all ages including sight-seeing tours, interactive games and walking tours.
Perched on seven hills, Lisbon is a welcoming city with much to offer. During the day, live Por tugal’s vivid history while strolling sunny, cobblestone streets. By night, indulge in delicious Portuguese cuisine including the traditional dish, ’Cozido à Por tuguesa.’ A visit to Lisbon would not be complete without experiencing the weeping melodies of Lisbon’s token Fado music. The harbour city also offers many bars and discotheques for adults in pursuit of a social evening of dancing.
Courses
Students have to be at least 18 years old.
Courses are structured in 6 different levels of Portuguese, and each level can be completed in 4 weeks thanks to the interactive and personalised teaching methods which our school uses.
One lesson lasts 50 minutes.
- Standard course - 15 lessons per week
This programme gives you enough time to discover the city of Lisbon and surroundings. There is a maximum of 8 students per class. - Intensive course - 25 lessons per week
This adds two supplementary group lessons per day to the standard programme mentioned above. There is a maximum of 8 students per class. - Private lessons - 5 to 40 lessons per week
This programme is ideal for students wishing to learn as much as possible in a short period of time. Classes take place in the morning and the afternoon, according to the number of lessons chosen per week.
You can also choose to follow the standard or intensive programme and add however many private lessons you want.
The minimum limit of the course is one week, but it can stretch to as long as the student wants.
Accommodation
Host Family
The host family will never be more than 20 minutes away from the school, being easily reached on foot or by public transport.
All families are controlled and monitored, and they all provide a warm and caring home away from home, providing the student with the opportunity to improve their Portuguese language in a traditional environment.
Students have the option between a single or double bedroom and they will be the only native speaker of their language at home unless requested otherwise. Half board provided.

Practical Info
Transport

- An (optional) transfer is available between airport and accommodation - see price table.
If you prefer, we can book your flights for you. This must be made clear at the moment of enrolment.
If you intend to book your own flight, try to arrive the Sunday before the start of your course and leave the Saturday following its end.
Visa Information
EU residents do not normally need a Visa to enter Portugal.
Citizens of other countries, such as the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, etc, can stay in Portugal without a Visa for up to 3 months.
If you intend to stay for longer than 3 months, you will need to apply for a Student Visa (type D) before arriving.
Students coming from such countries must acquaint themselves with the visa application procedures involved at their local Portuguese Embassy or Consulate.
