Discover Seville

Spain’s fourth-largest city and the capital of Andalusia, Seville maintains the warmth and intimacy of a small town. To say that Seville possesses a rich history would be an understatement: It's seen the glory of the Roman Empire, the luxurious sophistication of the Moors, and the Christian reconquest, which eventually gave the city what is now the third largest cathedral in the world.

Study Spanish in Seville and see just how the New World riches were brought to Europe at the Torre de Oro; visit the old Jewish quarter, the Barrio Santa Cruz, with its winding cobblestone streets and white-washed buildings; revel in the Alcázar, an enchanting Islamic palace. Deeply rooted traditions such as the convivial Holy Week processions and flamenco ferias make Seville a stimulating place to learn about Spanish culture, but it's also a very modern city with accommodating amenities. Succulent Spanish cuisine, traditional tapas, numerous restaurant terraces, authentic flamenco demonstrations, and a vibrant nightlife all contribute to making your stay in Seville an experience you will never forget.

Enforex, our partner school, is located in a historic building in the El Arenal disctrict, maintaining the charm of southern Spainish architecture while offering the most modern audio/visual equipment and facilities. Located in the city center's Santa Cruz neighborhood, it was constructed in the early 20th century by the same architect that erected one of Seville’s most famous monuments, the Plaza de España. Many major attractions, restaurants and bars of Seville are right in the vicinity of our academic center. The school features 12 air-conditioned classrooms, a roof deck, meeting room, WiFi access, and multimedia classrooms.

Activities and Excursions

The school regularly organizes social and cultural activities, either for free or for an extra charge depending on the type of activity. Some examples:

  • Afternoons and Evenings
Thematic city tours (historic Jewish quarter, Triana, Plaza de España, etc.), museums, Spanish film evening, Sevillana or Flamenco courses, etc.
  • Weekends
Trips to Portugal or Morocco, excursions to the tourist destinations in Seville or other cities, weekend on the sea, etc.

The school is open to participants ages 16 and up of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Class sizes are small, generally with an average of 8 students (10 maximum). Classes are each 55 minutes long.

Courses begin every Monday, and students sit a placement test on the first day of class. Our programmes combine different teaching techniques, centered on a communicative approach in order to reach every kind of learner.

Several programmes are available:

  • Standard or Intensive course

    • Standard: 20 Spanish lessons per week.
    • Intensive: 25 Spanish lessons + 5 cultural workshops per week.
  • DELE Exam Preparation

This programme offers 20 lessons per week preparing for the DELE (Diploma for Spanish as a Foreign Language) exam, enabling students to pass at any of its three levels, all recognised by the Instituto Cervantes. This qualification is very useful for students looking to go to a Spanish university or work in a Spanish speaking country. The school offers four week sessions for the exam preparation, at elementary, intermediate or advanced levels. The dates and prices are set by the Instituo Cervantes. See the "Dates & Prices" tab.

  • Private Lessons

Group programme + 5 or 10 private lessons per week. Students benefit from one-on-one teaching and a personalized lesson plan. The fastest and most efficient way to improve rapidly.

Cultural Workshops

A strong understanding of Spanish culture is essential to communication in the language. Our afternoon cultural workshops are not only intended to serve as opportunities for students to practice their Spanish, but also as ways to learn the basics of Spanish history, art, and mass communication.

  • Spanish Radio: Students produce their own radio programme based on national and international newscasts. The class requires students to listen to, collect and summarize information from Spanish broadcast media.
  • Press Workshop: Students produce their own newspaper/magazine based on news, cultural events, and popular traditions. The class requires students to conduct research in Spanish print media as well as to interview locals.
  • Drama Workshop: Students learn and perform extracts from well-known Spanish plays. In addition to the obvious cultural education that this workshop provides, it also aids students in learning to express themselves quickly with idiomatic terms.
  • History, Literature, & Art: Students learn to analyze some of Spain’s most famous writers and artists who reflect Spanish history. Students will also discover Spanish customs, gastronomy, and popular events.
