Language stays in Bournemouth, England

Bournemouth is without a doubt one of the best university towns and seaside resorts on England's southern coast.

Its charm, quaintness and miles of beach coupled with accommodating facilities have helped make it an important centre for tourism, education and business. And the large student population, thanks to its two universities, give it a friendly, cosmopolitan feel.

It's never dull in Bournemouth, thanks to its wide variety of cultural activities, sports and recreational programmes - with powerboat races, vintage car shows, international tennis championships and windsurfing competitions taking place throughout the year. With over thirty night clubs that include the two largest discos in the south of England, Bournemouth enjoys a dynamic night life. Students from all over the world flock to the energy and vibrancy of Bournemouth's city centre. There are also some 180 restaurants and cafés offering every type of international cuisine. During the summer, there are weekly firework displays from the pier, laser light shows, the Musicmaker's Festival and the unique Flowers by Candlelight Festival, where the people of the town gather to light 15,000 candles in the Central Gardens. A safe and inviting city for young people, the beaches and pedestrian zones offer adolescents the opportunity to enjoy their holidays in a safe and relaxed environment.

The city offers a well-organized transportation system, with an excellent network of buses and trains extending throughout Britain and to many parts of Europe. It's just a hop, skip and a jump away from Portsmouth, and London is just two hours away by train. Bournemouth International Airport has regular scheduled and chartered flights from the UK and abroad.
