This programme is aimed at students aged 16 - 18 years old who wish to study in an English college with British students for a full academic year.

A Level qualifications are recommended for students wishing to go on to further study at the university level.
You will choose three or four subjects from the following list: Biology, Business Studies, Financial Studies, Chemistry, Communications & Culture, English (Language and Literature), English Literature, Film Studies, French, Further Mathematics, Geography, German, Government and Politics, History, Information and Communication Technology, Italian, Law, Mathematics, Media Studies, Philosophy, Photography, Physics, Psychology, Sociology or Spanish. You will have around four hours of classes per week in every subject, plus self-study and assignments.
Minimum language level required: B2 or IELTS 5.5
While the BTEC Level 3 Diploma also allows you to continue on to further study, these qualifications are also a great way to learn about a specific industry and, in some cases, get your foot in the door with a placement.
15 hours per week of your chosen course: Animal Care, Art & Design (Visual Arts), Business & Administration, Child Care & Education, Engineering, Horticulture, Hospitality and Food Information Technology, Media, Medical and Health Science, Music, Performing Arts, Public Services, Retail, Sports & Active Leisure, Travel & Tourism and more. Lessons will be a mixture of discussion, lectures, group and individual research, and practical activities.

When staying with a host family, both sides must work to communicate and establish a good relationship. Students should remember to respect the hosts' home and house rules. This will go a long way in maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with the family. Housing Services are available in Bournemouth to assist you with any questions or issues with your homestay during your stay.
A deposit is payable on arrival, refundable at the end of your stay provided no damages are incurred.
The student residence is located near the seafront and is ideal for meeting other international students.

The school year is split into three terms: Autumn Term, Spring Term and Summer Term, each with a half-term holiday.

Exact term dates are not yet fixed in stone by the College. They will be confirmed once we receive your booking. The final academic calendar will be given to you before your departure.

Send us a registration form as soon as possible.
You will then receive a pre-confirmation form and an application form to be completed. We will invite you to pay €90 in order to take a proficiency test and to provide us with your school results for the past 3 years. The interview fee is non-refundable and is deductible from the final cost if enrolment is confirmed.
We will then invite you to come to our office in Brussels or Paris for the full interview. You must come to our office with the first part of the application form filled in.
If the interview is successful, we will ask you to pay a deposit (25% of the total amount, minimum €1,500) and to send us the relevant documents completed. This includes recommendation letters from your teachers, your medical history and other information needed to process your booking. As soon as we recieve all the documents and the deposit, we will send the application file to our partner.
The final decision belongs to the college after examination of your application form and an interview by phone. You will be accepted to your chosen courses according to the availabilities, your level of English, your previous academic background (the College requires good marks in the desired subjects) and the enrolment dates.
Your application is officially confirmed as soon as you receive the letter of acceptance from the College
Your exact arrival and departure dates will be sent out once Bournemouth College has confirmed admission.
