Program
This summer programme is designed to bring youth from across the globe together to improve their English and participate in athletic and cultural activities in a fun and safe environment. The curriculum allows students to learn and practice English while exploring a new region of the United States. Participants are supervised by our motivated professional staff during all activities.
The programme in Chicago is open to all students aged 13 to 18who are not complete beginners in English and includes 20 English lessons per week, plus activity programme.
The programme lasts either 2, 3, or 4 weeks.
No visa necessary for EU residents or Canadians - a valid passport is enough (along with an ESTA declaration to be completed before departure, the documents for which we will provide you with).
Destination
Modern, pleasant and cosmopolitan city, Chicago is widely known for its modern architecture and numerous skyscrapers - some of the highest of the world. The campus is located near Lake Michigan and close to main public transports. Chicago is definitely one of the greatest places to study English and discover American culture.
School
Courses take place at Loyola University, on the North side of Chicago, only 5 minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan. The campus is very connected by public transportation and has very nice facilities, including an indoor basketball court, a football field, volleyball and tennis courts, and a pool.
Courses
Lessons take place Monday to Friday for 4 hours in the morning. Totalling 15 hours per week, with a maximum of 15 students per group.
The first day the students are given a diagnostic test to place them in the appropriate level of English class. A certificate of participation is given out at the end of the programme. Visits and excursions are planned during lesson time, so that the students understand what will happen and get the most out of them.
Timetables are organised so that students benefit as much possible from the lessons on offer.
Activities and Excursions
Activities take place in the afternoons and evenings during the week, and on the weekend. Each week, each student takes part in 3 half-day excursions and one full-day excursion.

Accommodation
The Santa Clara residence is a 9-floor building on the coast of Lake Michigan. She was renovated in 2008.
The students stay in furnished double rooms in campus residences. Each room is en suite. The residence is divided up into 2 bedroom apartments. Each apartment has its own kitchen and lounge.
Students benefit from 19 meals per week (full board Monday-Friday, half board on weekends). Only dinner is offered on the day of arrival, and likewise breakfast on the day of departure. Meals are taken in the campus cafeteria.
A deposit should be paid upon arrival (exact amount and methods of payments will be clarified in the documentation sent to you before departure.
