Summer Camp in Lignano

Program

Programme Overview

This programme is ideal for teenagers aged between 12 and 18 who wish to begin or continue learning Italian. A mixture of nationalities is guaranteed so you are less likely to encounter your native language.

The combination of language classes and activities allows students to make real and rapid progress in Italian: they will have the opportunity to practice ideas studied in class all throughout the day. Their learning is therefore constant, all while being fun!

Destination

Situated on the Adriatic seaside, Lignano is a coastal resort town in a relaxing atmosphere and a pleasant climate. Known for its impressive 8km-long, soft sandy beaches, Lignano also boasts extensive pine forests, much to the pleasure of its vacationers.

In addition, the numerous bike trails, quaint boutiques, and theme parks are available to visitors, who can enjoy these activities in a friendly and comfortable environment.

School

Our partner school is located in the residential village of Villaggio Adriatico, which welcomes young Italians and international students alike during the summer months. Along with its own pine-forest park and private beach, the school offers Italian language courses adapted for international youth, in a natural environment, constructive to study and relaxation.

Facilities also include several sports fields and a pool.

Students are monitored constantly by a team of professionals. In case of emergencies, a nurse is available 24/7.

Courses

Our summer programme seeks to find the perfect balance between classes and activities, for an efficient learning experience in a relaxed atmosphere, all while taking into account the young ages of the participants.

20 Italian courses are dispersed throughout the week, from Monday to Saturday. The groups are based on level, adapted to the aptitude of the students in the class.

From beginner to advanced level, the classes never exceed 12 students, allowing for the participation of each individual.

Our qualified and experienced teachers ensure true immersion into the Italian language.

Activities

In addition to Italian courses, there is a large range of athletic, cultural and social activities offered to students. Our camp counselors organise different supervised programmes each week according to the age of the students and they make sure that all activities are carried out in the target language.

Some activities include: beach games, tennis, cooking competitions, basketball, and crafts. There are also full-day cultural excursions organised each week to places such as Venice, Verona, Gardaland or Trieste.

Accommodation

Participants are housed in shared rooms within supervised residence halls on the campus of the school, sharing with students of the same age and gender but always of a different nationality. Friends travelling together can ask to share a room.

Each room has 2-4 beds and a private bathroom.

Our friendly on-site staff are there to supervise the students and ensure that they have a good time in Lignano. Full-board (3 meals a day) is provided by the school cafeteria. For excursions a packed lunch is provided.

Residential accommodation is arranged for the Sunday before classes begin until the Sunday following their end (except for the final week of the summer which ends on a Saturday).
