Location
California is the most populous state in the USA and is situated on the West Coast. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, it enjoys a pleasant climate, year-round, and the diversity of the landscapes contributes to the beauty of the countryside. Tourists flock to California to visit the numerous natural parks, museums, amusement parks, not to mention the famous neighbourhoods of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu and Los Angeles. It is a perfect location to practice a variety of sports, or to shop.
Los Angeles is preceded by its bad reputation of Temple of show business. We can can’t keep ourselves from associating it to the glitz and glamor. The "City of Angels"continues to embodies the American dream. Cosmopolitan, it draws its climate, its beaches, its film industry and lifestyle. It is also full of contrasts and suffers a bubbling intellectual and artistic, as evidenced by the many museums in the city.

The superb campus of Loyola Marymount University is situated south of Los Angeles, on a hill overlooking the Pacific coast. This small, private university has been welcoming foreign students for years and offers an agreeable, quiet environment with exceptional facilities, including a pool and basketball and volleyball courts.
The campus is an ideal starting point for exploring Southern California and discovering the region’s charms. Excursions are discussed in class before each trip. You will learn vocabulary and interesting infomation before your trip. You may also be given assignments to do on the excursions. This combination of exploring through activities and excursions is the best way to discover life in Los Angeles and to improve your English skills!
