Program

Overview

This programme is ideal for children and teens wishing to start learning or perfect their French. The mix of nationalities is guaranteed so they won't have much chance to speak their native language. Available for teenagers between 11 and 17.

The mix of language classes and activities allows students to make real and rapid progress with their French: they have the opportunity to put into practice many of the ideas touched upon in their classes. Thus their learning is near constant, all while remaining fun and relaxed.

For both activities and lessons, groups are sorted by age and preferences.

Destination

Situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the south of France, Montpellier offers majestic views of white sands and blue sea. Thanks to its excellent location between Provence, the Camargue, the Cevennes mountains and the Pyrenees, Montpellier offers a wide range of opportunities for excursions. The countryside is dotted with gorges, creeks and picturesque villages.

School

Our partner school is located in one of the most attractive areas of Montpellier’s historic centre. It is situated on a pedestrian street with many small boutiques, bakeries and tea rooms. It is also located right across from the beautiful Chamber of Commerce building.

The establishment itself is a charming 18th century hotel, just a short walk from the famous "Place de la Comédie", Montpellier’s principal square, with many cafés, restaurants, gardens and the magnificent Opera house. The city’s principal bus and tramway lines are a three minute walk from the school. Learn French in an interactive way with experimented and enthusiastic teachers in a pleasant, young and dynamic environment.

As a member of the “Groupement FLE”, a group with a strong commitment and passion for French language learning, our partner school offers an extensive and comprehensive collection of programmes which often combine language learning with specific targets and cultural activities.

The institute offers well-lit and well-equipped classrooms (TV, DVD, CD players as well as air-conditioning). It also offers several computers and free high-speed internet access via WiFi. The school also now has a pre-course online test which students complete before arrival, so that you can begin your lessons as soon as you arrive.

The school welcomes students from more than 50 nationalities each year.

Program

French lessons

Classes are mixed and international, with a maximum of 15 pupils.

French lessons have been prepared specifically for young people coming from all over the world and who wish to learn French during a linguistic and cultural stay in the south of France. The teaching methods bring out oral communication. Progress is made thanks to role playing, use of video, interactive talks, songs, theatre, activities, etc.

Lessons last 45 minutes, of which there are either 15 or 20 per week, depending on the programme selected.

The school offers a varied selection of activities and organised excursions each week.

Supervision

The supervision and well-being of our students is our priority. That is why staff and group leaders are available 24/7. They are experienced and passionate and they supervise youngsters during meals, activities, and excursions. At the end of the day, the students are taken back to the residence or picked up by their host family.

Our French teachers, group leaders, and the school staff make sure that the students make the most of their stay in Montpellier and leave with unforgettable memories.

Accommodation

During your trip to Montpellier, you will get the opportunity to stay either in a host family or in a student residence.

Host family

Staying within a host family offer you a full immersion into the French lifestyle. Sharing the meals with the family is an excellent way to perfect your French skills.

Students are generally housed in a double room (single or triple room available upon request and according to the availabilities).

Respect and comprehension are necessary in order to make the stay as pleasant as it should be for both the family and the student. You will be asked to adapt yourself to the family’s way of living (meals time, use of the bathroom, etc.)

Student residence (ages 14+)

The teenagers older than 14 years can stay in a residence near the language centre (single or twin beds). Each studio is fully equipped with kitchenette, bathroom, closet and desk.

The residence includes a common room (with hot and cold drinks, vending machine), a well-lit patio with tables, chairs and a laundrette.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served either in the language centre or in brasseries/restaurants nearby Montpellier’s pedestrian streets. The group leaders accompany the students for their meals. Lunch boxes are prepared for weekends.

- Easter: 1st to 14th April (Homestay accommodation only)

- Summer: 24th June to 25th August

- Autumn: 21st October to 3rd November (Homestay accommodation only)

Courses don't take place on the following dates: 9th April, 15th august, 1st November, but activities will be organised to replace them.

Prices include:

Practical Info

Transport

• Arrival airport or train station: Montpellier
• There is a welcome service upon your arrival and departure taking you to and from your accommodation.

If you prefer, we can book your flights for you. This must be made clear at the moment of enrolment.

If you intend to book your own flight, try to arrive the Sunday before the start of your course and leave the Saturday following its end.

Visa Information

EU residents do not normally need a Visa to enter France.

Citizens of other countries, such as the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, etc, can stay in France without a Visa for up to 3 months.

If you intend to stay for longer than 3 months, you will need to apply for a Student Visa (type D) before arriving.
