Summer Camp in Saint-Malo

Program

Programme overview

This programme is ideal for children and teens wishing to start learning or perfect their French. The mix of nationalities is guaranteed so they won't have much chance to speak their native language. Available to 12-18 year olds.

The mix of language classes and activities allows students to make real and rapid progress with their French: they have the opportunity to put into practice many of the ideas touched upon in their classes. Thus their learning is near constant, all while remaining fun and relaxed.

For activities and lessons, groups are divided up according to the ages and preferences of the participants.

Destination

Saint-Malo, a landmark destination in Brittany, is proud of its history.

Seaside town known for its intimate setting and relationship with the sea, it's one of the most visited places in Brittany. It's considered top amongst the preferred destinations of European holiday-goers in France. Strengthened by a rich maritime history, it has a prominent port (for tourism, fishing, commerce, and travel) and economic centre.

Courses

Classes are mixed and international, with a maximum of 15 pupils. Upon arrival, participants will take a test to determine their level. Warning: complete beginners are not accepted.

  • Semi-intensive course: 15 lessons

This course includes 15 French lessons per week: 3 lessons per day, every morning, 50 minutes each.

Classes are given by native teachers qualified to teach French as a foreign language.

The teaching method is designed to be interactive, with progress in oral competence ensured by role playing games, use of video, discussion, studying songs, drama, activities, etc.

A full and varied activity programme

A wide range of activities is offered by our partner school: extra chances to practice your French and make new friends from all over the world.

Example activities: visiting the town, Beach-volley, beach games, treasure hunts, sports (basketball, football, tennis, volleyball...), visiting the aquarium, catamarans...

Example excursions: visiting the famous Mont Saint-Michel, boat trip to Dinant and visiting the town...

French and Sailing (only for 2 weeks, from age 13)

We offer a special programme of French and surfing. After the morning lessons, students can go sailing on a catamaran 5 afternoons per week, at a professional club in Saint-Malo.

This programme is available with the semi-intensive course.

Supervision

Supervision and welfare of the children is our priority. That's why the team of group leaders are present and available 24/7. They are experienced and passionate and look after the youths during their meals, activities, and excursions.

At the end of the day, the children are looked after by their host families.

Our French teachers, group leaders, and the entire staff at the language school, make sure that the students get the most out of their language exchange at Saint-Malo and leave with an unforgettable memory.

Accommodation

Host family

Staying with a host family allows you to immerse yourself completely in the French way of life.

Students are generally housed in a double room (typically with another student of the same age and gender but different nationality) in one of our host families.

Full board is included.
